Hello! I am Dr. Tom Ferguson. I'm a Yale trained physician, a medical writer focusing on self-care including smoking cessation, and your personal guide to quitting smoking.

No two smokers are exactly alike. You, as a health-concerned smoker, must take control of your smoking in your own way and in your own time.

Researchers agree that smoking is a major health hazard. The good news is that smokers can reduce their risk of disease. Quitting smoking is the obvious way to reduce your smoking related risk of disease. If you are not ready to quit, other techniques are available to help reduce your risk: limiting the number of cigarettes smoked and increasing your wellness level.

So are you ready?

The first step is to complete the confidential Smoker Survey. The main purpose is to learn more about your perspective. After you submit the completed survey you will receive information on a comprehensive Stop Smoking Audio Program, a key resource to help you quit smoking.

Other helpful on-line resources include excerpts from my book, No-Nag, No-Guilt, Do-It-Your-Own- Way Guide to Quitting Smoking, and our Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ's). If that is not enough, remember, I am only an e-mail message away.
